Welcome Page Addition

It has ocurred to me recently that the main (Welcome) page doesn’t really support the blog loop in terms that it lets any new visitors know that there’s stuff happening in the ‘Site Blog’ section of the website. Thus, I am thinking that I ought to do something about that.

My thought is that I shall randomly pull a (recent to semi-recent) blog entry from the blog and post an excerpt from it on the front page. (And for recurring users, I might post a “There have been 4 new blog entries since you were last here” notice.)

It’s a thought, and a hack worth investigating.
