CPL Redesign
I’m working on redesigning the content of the Control Panel Login page. It’s taking me a little while, but I do have a cool idea as to how I want it to look. At the moment, in Mozilla it’s a little bit wonky. (I may end up working with slightly different stylesheets for the two browsers on this one.) And, I have yet to separate the loginForm from the loginDiv, (content and background, respectively,) so that I can get an amusing overlap effect between the form elements, the pagemark images and the green background.
Honestly, the effect, at first, was a complete accident that showed up in Mozilla originaly when I was trying to put the login page together with floats. However, I rather like the effect, and I think it will look stunning when I am finished. (Well, perhaps stunning is too strong a word. Cool, perhaps?)
At any rate, stay tuned. I will have that page looking grand by the end of the week. (Knowing me, possibly by the end of the day.) And I must say that it’s long overdue. That particular page has been in need of a little spice for a while now.
Display Problems Resolved???
Well, I spent about an hour going through my stylesheets and trying this, and that, and the other thing, without any success at fixing the problem of getting my site to center it’s content (when viewed in Mozilla.)
So, after I gave up and got a coffee, I set my stylesheet back to the original copy I had before I started trying to fix the problem, and I restarted the computer (I was having some speed issues with my internet connection.) Then, believe it or not, I pull up the Mozilla browser, and all is well! The site centers, everything’s been put back to the way it looked (minus the centering problem) before.
I’m not sure, but I think there may have been a refresh glitch in the browser, or it’s possible that it’s just my lucky day and re-uploading the original CSS file was all I needed? Regardless of what the solution was, it works, so all is good!
Display Problems (Continued)
I am still battling with getting the site to center in Mozilla. To that end, I”m spending some time re-working the stylesheets today. I apologize if things don’t look their best at the moment.
Control Panel
For those of my clients who have been eagerly awaiting the return of my Control Panel, I would like to let you know that said day is almost here!
I am presently working on setting up the basics for the control panel and getting the various applications contained therein operational under the new design. At the moment, getting the client database utilities up and running is first on the list, now that I actually have the control panel set up such that I can work on it. :)
In the mean time, if you’d like to log in and see what is going on with work on the control panel, the login fields at left will let you do so.
Have a great day!
Display Problems
Well, as I’m not happy with the way my site views on a 1024×768 resolution when I scale it down for 800×600, I’ve gone with setting up two different stylesheets, and am letting JavaScript do the decision-making as to which one gets displayed.
Since it is JavaScript that is doing the decision-making, if a user should have JavaScript disabled, or is using an old version of it, the 800×600 resolution stylesheet will be used instead of the higher resolution setting. This was both the easiest way to set it up, and the best possible setup for my users, I believe.
So, if you happen to be one of those users who is still using a monitor with an 800×600 resolution setting on your computer, I apologize again for the inconvenience I may have caused you, and am glad that you’ve still stuck around. :)
Thanks for your patience everyone!
